Why This Recipe Works

  • Real chicken – No mystery meat or fillers
  • Healthier – Baked or air-fried options
  • Freezer-friendly – Make ahead for busy nights
  • Picky-eater approved – Even adults love them
  • 3 cooking methods – Oven, air fryer, or pan fry

For the crispiest nuggets, Serious Eats recommends using panko breadcrumbs for a lighter, crunchier coating.

3 Cooking Methods

  • Oven: Bake at 425°F (220°C) for 15-18 minutes, flipping halfway.
  • Air Fryer: Cook at 375°F (190°C) for 10-12 minutes, shaking halfway.
  • Pan Fry: Heat ½ inch oil to 350°F (175°C). Fry for 3-4 minutes per side until golden.

For the best air fryer results, King Arthur Baking recommends not overcrowding the basket and flipping halfway through cooking.
